LOOKOUT VALLEY, HAMILTON CO., TN (WRCB) - A home is severely damage by an early morning fire.

The call came in just before 5:00a.m. of a house fire on Elder Mountain Road.

An official on the scene tells us a woman was asleep when she heard a noise.

Firefighters say she awoke to see sparks coming from near an oxygen machine in the living room.

She tried to extinguish the fire, but it got out of control and the fire department was called.

The fire was contained in the living room. It along with the front and outside of the home sustained major damage.

She got out safely, but a dog died in the fire.

She is staying with relatives.
