Snow arrives in the Tennessee Valley
(WRCB) - Winter weather arrives in the Tennessee Valley.
Snow began falling overnight on Signal Mountain. Parts of Lookout Mountain and Lewis Chapel in Sequatchie County also reported having some snowfall.
Grundy County, at last check, had received 1 1/2 inches of snow accumulation on the grassy areas and cars. The roadways are fine.
Channel 3 Storm Alert Meteorologist David Karnes says we can expect a light winter mix on and off throughout the day. Today will be cold (40's), but not cold enough for anything to freeze on the roadways.
While the higher elevations are seeing some light accumulations, we should not expect much if any accumulation in the valleys.
It will begin to clear out tonight and Wednesday as the cold, dry weather settles in. Lows Wednesday morning will be in the low to mid 30s with highs once again in the 40s with clearing skies through the day.
