CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The weather was perfect for folks looking to get outside and run or walk for a good cause and there were two races to choose from.

The Turkey Trot and Grateful Gobbler are both Thanksgiving Day traditions in Chattanooga.

The Turkey Trot took place on Lee Highway at the Sports Barn.

Many of them runners, walkers and families looking for something to do together.

All proceeds benefit the Kidney Foundation.

The Grateful Gobbler benefits the Chattanooga Homeless Coalition.

Organizers say Thanksgiving is not only a time to be grateful for what we have it's also a time to be aware of those who have less than we do.

The walk began at Coolidge Park and the event offered fun for all, including dancing!

The participants even had a cheer section, that you couldn't help but notice. Star Wars characters stood on the sidelines, they say they just wanted to make sure the participants kept a smile on their face as they got close to the finish line.
