CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Brenda Robertson says Tuesday she found an intruder standing in her.

"I came out of the bedroom and met him right there at the bar," she said. "He was tall and slim. He opened the door and looked at me."

She says two more men were outside her door.

They rang the doorbell five times, but Robertson says she didn't answer because she wasn't expecting anyone.

Moments later she found the intruder in the kitchen.

Robertson said, "I saw him and then I told him to get out of my house then I ran into the bedroom to call the police."

She says the burglar tried to get through the garage door with a crowbar and when that failed he managed to slip through a bedroom window.

After scaring him off Robertson checked the bedroom and discovered the intruder took her grandchildren's Christmas gifts.

She lives on fixed income and isn't sure how to replace them.

"I'm scared for my life. I can't take a shower in my own house. I can't bathe, I can't sleep in my house without someone being here," Robertson says.

That means keeping close friends and family nearby.

She has never seen the men before, but says she won't be caught off guard again.

Police are searching for who's responsible and the only description they have are three men and white vehicle.

If you have any information, call police.

Robertson says she will stay with family until she can find a new place to live.
