CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- A Chattanooga man is accused of assaulting and threatening an officer while using racial slurs.
Police Sergeant Jerri Weary says the incident happened Saturday while police were responding to a separate assault call on Hoyt Street.
Weary says 19-year-old Brandon Arnold became combative and threatened to kill an officer.
She says he used several racial slurs, while also threatening the officer with bodily harm.
Arnold is charged with assault and civil rights intimidation.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. on McCutcheon Road near Lee Highway.
