CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- Closing arguments are expected to begin Friday morning in a high profile murder case in Knoxville.

Micah Johnson is on trial for the murder of Chattanooga native Carrie Daugherty in March of 2008.

Johnson admits to murdering the Notre Dame High School graduate, but he claims he was insane at the time.

The defense wrapped Thursday morning, and the prosecution led a rebuttal by calling its own psychiatric witnesses.

They're trying to establish Johnson knew what he was doing when he slaughtered Daugherty.

Closing arguments are set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
