Nick Saban surprises two Tennessee Valley students
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- Two young Alabama football fans got the surprise of a lifetime, Thursday.
Both have had severe physical challenges in their young lives, and both received a special gift they'll never forget.
Nash Norris is a kindergarten student at East Brainerd Elementary. Hunter Wills is a sixth grader at Lakeview Middle School.
During a surprise assembly at Lakeview, both were guests of honor at the special presentation.
Both are fans of the Alabama "Crimson Tide". Their love of Alabama football gives them a big lift each weekend.
So, Chattanoogan Alan Pressley, who creates shadowboxes featuring photographs of sports memorabilia, contacted Coach Nick Saban's office. The coach took time out from his gridiron duties to sign personalized autographs for Nash and Hunter.
"It means a lot that he would take time out to do this, it means a lot to me," says Travis.
Hunter has battled health issues throughout his life, including seizures.
Nash has undergone spinal cord procedures, chemo and radiation. His big sister, Kaleigh, says faith helps keep him going.
And, a little boost from his favorite football team certainly doesn't hurt.
