Walker shooting victim jailed on theft charges
CHICKAMAUGA, WALKER COUNTY (WRCB)-- A Flintstone woman, who told investigators she was shot at a party, is now behind bars in connection with the incident.
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson tells Channel 3, 33-year-old Aundrea Couch arrived at her sister's Carolyn Drive home on October 29th with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Couch told investigators she was shot during a party at a nearby home, but has since recanted her statement.
Sheriff Wilson says further investigation revealed Couch's sister, 30-year-old Amber Graham, and a friend, 33-year-old Kenny Motley, helped her hide a pistol and hydrocodone taken from a home in Rossville just hours before.
All three have been arrested, and Couch refuses to tell investigators how, or where, she was shot.
She is charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle, two firearms and medication.
Graham is charged with one count of felony obstruction. Motley is charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of theft by receiving stolen property.
The cases will be presented to a Walker County Grand Jury in early 2012.
