KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A University of Tennessee art professor is collecting photos taken by soldiers at war.

Baldwin Lee plans to gather enough photos to have an exhibit in the spring and possibly put together a publication. He's been meeting with student veterans about the project.

Lee said that because of digital cameras, phones and other electronic devices, soldiers are chronicling wartime in new ways. Soldiers are texting and emailing unedited photos and also putting them on Facebook.

Lee said letter writing from past wars was the norm, but no more.
