CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A non-profit downtown development company is closing on a deal to buy the 700 block of Market Street.

River City Company sold the land in 2005, hoping the buyer would build a complex mixed with homes and businesses.

That never happened.

The re-purchasing deal includes the original land, plus a parcel of land next to SuntTrust Bank.

The deal is expected to close in about three weeks.

The group has developers looking at the property, to come up with a plan on what to build there.
