Two men arrested for stealing curb formers
BRADLEY COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- The Bradley County Sheriff's Office has cleared the early October theft of 65 highway curb formers.
A month-long investigation by the criminal investigations division resulted in the arrest Monday of Tony Pyburn and his uncle, David Pyburn.
They were spotted on APD 40 in a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck matching the description of a vehicle connected to the theft.
They are charged with theft of property over $10,000 and possession of a schedule VI drug.
The curb formers were taken during multiple visits to the 3100 block of Dalton Pike between October 7th and the 11th .
Curb formers are used to form concrete around storm grates. Each weighs approximately 90 pounds and are valued at over $32,000.
During the investigation detectives discovered they had been sold to scrap metal dealers in Ooltewah and Chattanooga.
Both suspects were held in the Bradley County jail pending arraignment. In General Sessions Court this morning bonds were set at $20,000 each and they are due back on November 15th.
