Dade County man sentenced to life in prison

Posted: Updated:

DADE COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -- A Dade County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murder.

In October, a jury convicted Johnathan Ellison for murder, in the stabbing death of Antwane Hyatte of Chattanooga.

A judge has now sentenced him to life with the possibility of parole.

Hyatte was stabbed at Ellison's home on Sand Mountain in March of 2011.

Investigators believe Hyatte was killed when he went to Ellison's house to collect money he was owed.

James Oglesby will go to trial next year for his role in the murder.
