DUNLAP, SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - A new company will bring 150 jobs to Sequatchie County.
Dunlap Mayor Dwain Land says, "Business brings business. Opportunities bring more opportunities."
That's the business motto Land follows when it comes to bringing industry to his city.
He's within days of inking a multi-million deal with German-based Mann+Hummel.
They build parts for American-based car companies.
Leaders won't confirm whether Chattanooga's Volkswagen is one of those companies.
The plans have been over a year in the making.
Land says, "There have been so many hours and people that have put time into this company and getting them here."
Mann+Hummel promise to pump $15 million into the old Seymour Tubing plant creating some 150 jobs.
It's an economic booster shot for an area that has leaned towards double digit unemployment numbers all year.
Betty Miller says, "That will be good about the jobs because there are so many people out of work right here in Dunlap."
What's unique about the location is this is the same plant that let go of about 90 employees years ago.
Mayor Land says, "When you get 150 nice jobs, it's large. It's huge. You can't put it into words. You can't put it into words."
The final deal should be signed by the end of November.
