NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Valley Authority has donated $50,000 to the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville for the sixth straight year.

The federal utility said in a statement the money will help support more than 60 United Way partner agencies, schools, neighborhoods and nonprofit groups in the Nashville area.

TVA also supports the United Way and other nonprofit agencies through employee contributions to the annual Combined Federal Campaign, which raised more than $2 million companywide in 2010 to benefit charitable organizations.
