Suspected burglar held at gunpoint by homeowner
McMINN COUNTY (WRCB)-- A burglary suspect is now in police custody after a homeowner catches him in the act and holds him at gunpoint.
McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says 26-year-old David Brown allegedly tried to break-in to a home on County Road 279 Wednesday morning. The sheriff says deputies were called to the scene by the homeowner, who had Brown at gunpoint.
While being questioned, Brown told officers several stolen items were at nearby home at 311 County Road 279.
Sheriff Guy says two more suspects, 32-year-old Rocky Brown and 29-year-old Jennifer Brazle, were at the home. He says the stolen items Brown had advised deputies of were found during a search that evening.
"It was a day-long operation," says Sheriff Joe Guy. "But, our officers did great follow-up work and it appears they have solved several thefts and locked up the suspects."
All three suspects were taken to the McMinn County Jail.
Sheriff Guy says theft and burglary charges are pending.
