UPDATE: Single-car crash in Jasper claims 4 lives

Posted: Updated:

JASPER, MARION COUNTY (WRCB)-- A one-car crash in Jasper has claimed the lives of four men Sunday morning.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Spokeswoman Dalya Qualls tells Channel 3 the wreck happened on Highway 27 shortly after midnight.

She says the driver, 42-year-old Terry Alder Sr., was traveling at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway and over-corrected.

The 1995 Ford Mustang flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver and both backseat passengers.

Investigators say Terry Alder Sr., along with 21-year-old Terry Alder Jr., 48-year-old Barry Wilson, and 48-year-old Victor Poe were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident report shows Alder Jr. was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

It also states drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors.
