HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB)-- Channel 3 is learning more about the death of a 57-year-old Mowbray Mountain woman.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Spokeswoman Janice Atkinson confirms the death of Margaret Karen Morton is "unexplained".

Atkinson says investigators are conducting a 30-acre grid search around the crime scene.  Morton lives on a farm with several horses and other animals.

Morton's body was found Saturday on her Montlake Road property by authorities conducting a well-being check.

Some neighbors say detectives questioned them, asking if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

Morton's co-workers at Erlanger tell Channel 3 the long-time E.R. nurse clocked out Friday night and appeared to be in good spirits. When she didn't show up for work the next morning, they asked law enforcement to check on her, which led to the discovery.

Atkinson says the investigation is on-going and more information will be released once it becomes available.

"The autopsy is being done today we do know that it is not a suicide," says Atkinson.  "There's very little details we can release as it is an on-going investigation."

"I just wish they could tell us something," says neighbor, Tim Farmer.  Farmer like many of his other neighbors has been watching police cars come and go for three days.  "She was a nice lady and a good person," Farmer says.  "It's shame she's gone, that's for sure."

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has held the scene since Morton's body was discovered Saturday morning.  They'll continue to hold it until the grid search has been complete.  When asked what they're looking for Atkinson says, " anything that pertains to the investigation."
