ATHENS, MCMINN CO., TN (WRCB) - Athens police are looking for suspects wanted in a late night shooting.
It happened on Francis Street in the Clem Jones Apartments just before 11pm. Kendall Mooney was approached by two black males who pulled a gun on him and demanded his money.
After Mooney emptied his pockets, one of the suspects hit him in the face with the gun.
When Mooney attempted to run towards the apartment, he was shot in the back.
He was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.
One of the suspects is described as a black male in his 20's with dark skin, 5'7, 170 pounds with short hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
The other suspect is a black male in his 20's with light skin, 6'3, 170 pounds and wearing a gray shirt and black hooded sweatshirt.
