Monday's Rossville Blvd crash claims life of child
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- An 11-year-old girl, ejected from her mother's vehicle Monday, has passed away.
Police Sergeant Jerri Weary tells Channel 3 the daughter of Rosalia Velasquez died around 1:00 Sunday morning as a result of her injuries she sustained in a car crash.
Police believe the girl and her 6-year-old brother were thrown from their mother's car on Rossville Boulevard because they were not wearing a seatbelt.
Weary says charges are pending the outcome of the on-going investigation.
She says the condition of the boy is unknown at this time.
