SODDY DAISY, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) – Rescuers have found the missing 49-year-old hiker that was missing in Pocket Wilderness.

The man went missing Wednesday night while hiking in Pocket Wilderness, near Soddy Daisy. At some point, the man got separated from his companion.

Several crews including the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC),  the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and a helicopter from the Tennessee Highway Patrol were used to find the missing man.

Officials have not released the man's name.

The Pocket Wilderness area is located in Soddy Daisy, and includes eight miles of trails. The area has numerous cliffs and some abandoned mines that can be a danger to hikers, particularly at night.
