WHITFIELD COUNTY (WRCB)-- Investigators say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in Westside Saturday night.

Sheriff Scott Chitwood says 32-year-old Daniel Densmore faces murder and arson charges for the deaths of 61-year-old Julius Wayne Smith and an unidentified woman.

Firefighters found the victims while responding to a house fire on Honeybee Way around 11:30 p.m.

Major John Gibson with the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office says Densmore knew the victims. He says Smith owned the home where he and the other victim were found.

Whitfield County Coroner Bobbie Dixson tells Channel 3 both bodies were partially burned. She says dental records are needed to identify the female victim.

Major Gibson says the crime scene is still active and investigators will make a final sweep Sunday afternoon.
