ATHENS, Ga. (WRCB) -- It takes a lot these days in Athens to shift attention away from Mark Richt's coaching future.

Luckily for the veteran Georgia coach, his Bulldogs are hosting Coastal Carolina (2-0) this week.

Chanticleers' head coach David Bennett is drumming up some celebrity this week after an epic press conference rant went viral. Bennett tried to use a story about a cat getting trapped in his kitchen as a motivational tool for his players.

"That cat started going all crazy. I tried to let it out the front door, but it was still going crazy in there," recalled an animated Bennett. "So I told our players we needed to be more like dogs. We don't need a bunch of cats in here, looking in the mirror wondering if they're looking good.

"We need more dogs."

The YouTube video has more than 500,00 hits in less than a week, and Richt said Tuesday you can count him as one of them.

"It looked like it jumped right into the middle of the conversation, so I really don't know 100 percent sure what it was about other than motivating his guys to get after somebody's rear end. Whatever works, the way I see it," he said.
