CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Most of the five members of the Boring family critically injured in a crash Monday are improving.

According to the Chattanooga Police Department, 36-year-old Philip Boring and his sons, Eli and Caleb, have been upgraded to stable condition following the crash that sent the family to the hospital.

Seven-year-old Alex was been released from the hospital Tuesday.

However, Boring's 5-year-old daughter, Brianna, remains in critical condition.

Monday morning Boring and the kids were headed to school when they were hit on Hixson Pike.  Police say the driver who hit the family ran a red light.

The accident happened at the intersection of Hixson Pike & Greendale Way, an area well known for serious crashes.

The driver who hit Boring 23-year-old, Burton Webb, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Police say they do not have an update on Webb's condition, but say he has be determined to be at fault in the crash.
