CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Another national magazine has Chattanooga on the cover after an online competition landed the Scenic City with the "best town ever" title in October's "Outside" magazine.
Nearly 22,000 people voted in the online and social media competition.
The magazine praised the city's beauty and outdoor activities near downtown. It mentions swimming, biking, white water rafting, and climbing opportunities not far from downtown.
"Outside" magazine last featured Chattanooga in a cover story for the August 2008 edition. It called Chattanooga one of the 20 Best Towns in America and ranked the Scenic City No. 2 on its list, second only to Washington, D.C.
The profile summarized the city's renaissance in the 1990s, its revitalized downtown and the many opportunities -- from boating to climbing -- in the great outdoors.
