Dooley likes AD's experience with big programs

Posted: Updated:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Derek Dooley says he's excited that new Volunteers athletic director Dave Hart has spent so much time around big-time college football programs.

Hart was introduced as the new athletic director on Monday night. He's spent the past three years at Alabama and was Florida State's athletic director for 12 years.

Dooley says Hart knows what kind of support the Vols need to return to competing for championships because of his experience around other top programs.

Dooley, who worked as an assistant to Alabama coach Nick Saban for seven seasons while the pair were at LSU and the Miami Dolphins, says Saban "had nothing but good things to say about him," which was enough to make Dooley comfortable with Hart.
