CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a shooting on Woodlandview Circle.
According to police, 19-year-old Kenneth Trammell was the intended target of a shooting Tuesday on Jeffrey Lane in which a 16-year-old girl was shot in the thigh.
Investigators say later that night, Trammel spotted three men he believed to be responsible for the shooting and opened fire on them.
The three men each ran in different directions to avoid the gun fire. In the shooting, a neighbor's SUV was struck by several bullets.
Police say as officers were out on patrol last night, they came in contact with Trammell and apprehended him following a foot chase in the area.
He and two other men were located and interviewed in reference to the shootings. Trammell was charged, the other two men do not face any charges.
Trammell was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault, vandalism and reckless endangerment. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 8.
Investigators say the case is still open.
