DALTON, WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA. (WRCB)-- A wanted purse snatcher, accused of leading police on a wild chase, has been arrested for the same crime in a different county.
As Channel 3 Eyewitness News first reported on Monday night, Dalton police arrested 41-year-old Eric Labron Reeves.
Police spotted him speeding on an interstate ramp Friday and quickly realized his gold SUV matched the description of the vehicle wanted in connection with a robbery in Chattanooga.
Police say Reeves led them on a chase, then took off on foot before he was cuffed.
Last week, multiple agencies chased Reeves, after they say he stole a woman's purse in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
The chase was called off for fear of public safety, after an officer's car was hit.
The vigil and balloon release will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm at the crash site on Talley Road.
