KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Derek Dooley says freshman safety Pat Martin plans to leave the program.
Dooley said Monday that the decision was mutually agreed upon, and that he would help Martin find a school that was a better fit from him.
The Greenville, S.C., native was designated a four-star recruit and the No. 22 safety in the nation by Rivals.com, but was not listed on the Vols' depth chart and wasn't part of the regular rotation by the end of fall camp.
Tennessee, which opens the 2011 season Saturday against Montana, also lost safety Janzen Jackson on Thursday, when Dooley kicked him off the team.
