ATLANTA (WRCB) - A Ringgold father, who works for Shaw Industries, has a big payday this week by winning in the Georgia lottery. William Ray, 48, recently won a $50,000 top prize playing the instant game Mega Bucks.
In a news release to Channel 3 Eyewitness News, Ray said he hopes to pay off "everything I need to pay off."
Ray purchased the winning ticket at B & C Quik Stop, 200 LaFayette Road in Chickamauga.
"I had just gotten off work," he said. "I couldn't see it at first, and I got my glasses. I was sweating like crazy."
Ray and his wife, Debrah, have one child together.
Georgia Lottery Corp. officials say the lottery has returned more than $12.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education since it began.
