PIKEVILLE, BLEDSOE COUNTY (WRCB) – Authorities in Bledsoe County have made an arrest in the murder of two women.

Deputies arrested 47-year-old Brenda K. Brown in the deaths of sisters Elizabeth Brown, 82, and Billie Sue Blaylock, 79.

Brown is the daughter-in-law of victim Elizabeth Brown.

She was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with two counts of first degree murder.

Brown and Blaylock were both found shot to death last week.

"Miss Brown was found in her bedroom. Miss Blalock was found off the back steps," Sheriff Jimmy Morris told Channel 3 last Tuesday.

Miss Elizabeth and Miss Billie Sue had lived next to each other, but otherwise alone, ever since they'd been widowed.

A motive in the murders has not been disclosed.

Brenda Brown is being held at the Bledsoe County Detention Center in Pikeville.
