Lookouts' Castellanos named SL Hitter of the Week

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB/Lookouts) -- Alex Castellanos is making quite a first impression with his new club.

Chattanooga's newest outfielder was named the Southern League Hitter of the Week on Monday, three weeks after he joined the Dodgers' organization in a trade from St. Louis.

Castellanos led the Lookouts and the league this week in three categories: RBI (11), extra-base-hits (9) and doubles (7). He hit .433 (13-for-30) to spark a Chattanooga offense that has scored 58 runs in its last seven games.

Born in Miami, Florida, the outfielder was drafted by the Cardinals in the tenth round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft. He previously earned honors this season as a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star and was twice named the Texas League Player of the Week.
