Steeple placed on new chapel at Lee Univ.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) - Construction of a new chapel at Lee University in Cleveland is on schedule with placement of the steeple.

The 42-foot-tall spire was lifted into place on Wednesday. A 6-foot-tall cross will be added to it, according to the Cleveland Daily Banner.

The new chapel is the first building constructed specifically for worship on the campus of the Christian school. Work on it began a year ago and the university plans to dedicate it during homecoming weekend in November.

The chapel will seat about 200 people when completed. The construction cost is $2.25 million.
