Waffle House robberies reaches 17

ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say the number of Waffle House robberies in the past two weeks is now 17.

Police say they're hunting a pair of suspects they consider serial robbers who have struck the restaurants in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry and Clayton counties along with the cities of Doraville and Norcross, police said.

Police tell WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/pV00Da ) that the spree of robberies includes cases in Auburn, Ala. and LaGrange, Ga.

Authorities say the latest robbery occurred Thursday morning at a Waffle House in Marietta.

Grogan says the suspects tend to strike between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., typically the slowest times at the restaurants, when they will place a to-go order. He said that when the cash register is opened, a gun is shown.

Police say the suspects wear a hat and sunglasses.
