Tornado-damaged Georgia school prepares to reopen

RINGGOLD, Ga. (AP) - A northwest Georgia high school is preparing to reopen, less than four months after part of its roof was torn away by a tornado.

Fox 5 Atlanta reports ( that crews have been working seven days a week to clean up and rebuild at Ringgold High School, which was covered by debris blown from 50 miles away during the April 27 twister.

Officials say the school is nearly ready to reopen, and the first day of class is scheduled for the day after Labor Day.

The storms killed eight people in Catoosa County, which includes the town of Ringgold.
