She said one of the biggest mistakes parents make is putting too much food in their child's lunch. She went on to say even it you're on a budget, there are healthy options like cutting a whole wheat hot dog bun and putting a banana or peanut butter on it. She also talked about food like boiled eggs and cheese. Another important tip, make sure your kids help plan and fix their lunch, because they are more likely to eat it.
