BREVARD, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 13-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after falling at a waterfall in the North Carolina mountains.
The Citizen-Times of Asheville reports (http://bit.ly/qcOCKq ) the boy fell at Looking Glass Falls near Brevard around noon Sunday but was not seriously injured. The Brevard Rescue Squad says the boy fell while walking along the bottom of the falls.
Two people died last weekend in mountain waterfall accidents.
Authorities say 27-year-old Eric Wampler of Indiana died July 30 after plunging over Glen Cannon Falls. That waterfall is in a private development in Transylvania near Pisgah Forest.
The same day, 17-year-old Amber Rose Mirisola of Mount Dora, Fla., drowned after slipping and getting swept over a 15-foot waterfall in an area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park known as The Sinks.
