CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)- Chattanooga Police say five women face prostitution charges following an undercover operation.

Police Sergeant Jerri Weary says the sting took place in the areas of Eastlake, Rossville Blvd, East Chattanooga and Highland Park.

Weary says this isn't the first time all five women have been arrested for prostitution.

 1. Sonia Jones, 44, was arrested on S. Lyerly Street, and charged with prostitution within 1.5 miles of a school.  This is eighth arrest for prostitution.

2. Vicki Smith (Lockhart), 51, arrested on E. 23rd Street, and charged with prostitution within 1.5 miles of a school. This is her third arrest for prostitution.

3. Kenya Russell, 30, was arrested on S. Kelly Street, and charged with prostitution within 1.5 miles of a school, possession of crack cocaine, possession drug paraphernalia. This is her third arrest for prostitution.

4. Darla McElroy, 25, was arrested on Robbins Street, and charged with prostitution within 1.5 miles of a school. This is her fifth arrest for prostitution.

5. Tonya Ector, 39, was arrested on E. Main. Street, and charged with prostitution within 1.5 miles of a school. This is her seventh arrest for prostitution.

Weary says the sting was conducted in an effort to combat prostitution and the problems that come with it.
