Cleveland man arrested for "doctor shopping"
BRADLEY COUNTY, TN (WRCB) – A Bradley County man is looking at jail time for "doctor shopping."
Clifford M. Guthrie was arrested after a grand jury indicted him on three counts of TennCare fraud for "doctor shopping," and three counts of obtaining the painkiller Lortab, a brand version of hydrocodone, by fraud.
Authorities say he either lied or withheld information to get prescription drugs and he used TennCare to pay for it.
Nearly 1,500 people have been charged with TennCare fraud since February of 2005.
