Ford Recalls Trucks in 21 States

Posted: Updated:

Chattanooga (WRCB) - Ford Motor Company is recalling more than a million pickup trucks. The company says the gas tanks can fall off and cause a fire.  The metal straps holding the tanks can rust on certain 1997 through 2004 models of F-150s, 1997 through 1999 F-250s, and 2002 and 2003 Lincoln Blackwoods.  The corrosion is blamed on extended exposure to road salt. The recall covers trucks in 21 states, Washington, D.C., and parts of Canada. The automaker will notify owners of the problem next month, and they can bring the trucks to a dealer for a fix. Georgia and Tennessee are not included in the recall, but if you purchased the truck in a different state, it may need repair.
