Anglers, TVA call aquatic vegetation experiment a success

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Local anglers and TVA met once again at Chester Frost Park for phase two of an experimental aquatic vegetation control project.

A team made up of over 20 local anglers and TVA representatives were on hand to relocate the weed control blankets that had been placed around the launch area at Chester Frost boat ramp last month.

Divers on hand to help stake the mats down after being relocated, said that there was no vegetation growing in the area were the mats were located prior to being relocated.

"The project appears to be a success and the mats are doing their job controlling the hydrilla," says local angler and diver Tony Townsend.
