CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- A suspect accused of fatally shooting a man and critically wounding his girlfriend just after midnight, Thursday, is behind bars.
Police Sergeant Jerri Weary says investigators picked up 24-year-old Jerrico Hawthorne around 10:00 Saturday morning at the Motel 6 on Lee Highway.
Police say Hawthorne was one of two suspects believed to have fatally shot 23-year-old James Williams, Junior several times in the chest and critically wounded his girlfriend Yetta Harris during a residential robbery.
The suspect is charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and especially aggravated robbery.
Hawthorne has been taken in for questioning before booking at the Hamilton County Jail.
