LIVELINES: DENTAL CALLS

Cavities and tooth decay are major concerns for kids of all ages, with improper brushing and poor hygiene to blame.

That's why Dr. Elenora Wood started the giddy up and brush campaign.

The program targets at risk kindergartners across the state to promote healthy smiles and prevent oral diseases.

Dr. Woods was our guest. She talked about how simple dental problems can lead to other serious heal issues, even death in extreme cases.

Dr. Woods also talked about the upcoming 2011 citywide Youth Health Explosion. There will be free dental, allergy, and diabetic screenings, along with other health information. There will also be entertainment for the children and a talent show with the chance to receive a recording contract.
