UPDATE 2 : One dead after double shooting on East 17th Street
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga Police continue to investigate an early morning double shooting on East 17th Street.
An eyewitness says that two men entered the house demanding money.
According to police, at some point one of the suspects shot 23-year-old James Williams Jr., multiple times in the chest. Williams was taken to the hospital and into surgery where he died.
The second victim, 38-year-old Yetta Harris, was shot in the chest and in the stomach. She was also taken to the hospital and into surgery. Police expect her to recover from her injuries.
Police say two children were in the home at the time of the shooting, but neither was injured.
Investigators say the robbery is thought to be drug or money related. Police discovered narcotics at the home.
Officers tell Channel 3 Eyewitness News they are following up on possible suspect leads now.
