Police looking for car break-in suspect

DALTON, WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA (WRCB)-- The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man, who used a debit card which was stolen during a vehicle break-in at Saul Raisin Bike Park.

The bike park is at Raisin Way and Brooker Drive.

The incident happened between 7:00-8:00 pm on July 18th

After riding the bike trails at the park, two people returned to find the driver's side window of their car had been broken out.  Nothing in the locked trunk or glove compartment was disturbed, but a purse that had been tucked underneath the passenger seat was missing.

The purse contained a brown Coach wallet with $60 in cash, along with a Samsung cell phone, insurance cards, a Lowe's credit card, a $100 Wal-Mart Gift Card, keys, and two Bank of America debit cards.

A backpack was also taken from the car, containing a pair of Oakley sunglasses with silver frames and blue lenses.

While talking to police, the victim attempted to cancel her debit cards and found that purchases had already been made using the card at the Kangaroo service station on Cleveland Highway.

Investigators retrieved surveillance video of a white male wearing a white hat and blue-gray Timberland logo t-shirt, khaki shorts, and black flip flops.

Anyone with any information on this suspect is asked to contact Detective Brandon Carter at 706-278-9085, extension 183.
