RINGGOLD, CATOOSA COUNTY (WRCB) – Three people face kidnapping and battery charges after allegedly beating a pregnant teen and leaving her on an empty back road.

Terry Hawkins never thought it would be a pregnant 17 year-old sitting on his porch asking for help.

Police say around midnight Saturday, Christopher Peppers argued with the girl, grabbed her by the hair and forced her into his parents' car.

In a 911 call you could hear the girl's father asking for help.

Police said Pepper's punched the girl in her face several times and threw her out the car at the corner of Dogwood and Magill Lane.

According to investigators after the incident the girl was left with a ripped shirt and no shorts and forced to run home through the woods.

That trip through the woods ended on Hawkins porch.

Two of the girl's friends who live nearby stayed with her until emergency services and police arrived.

"She said she had been thrown out of car and I could not imagine throwing someone out, especially when they are pregnant," says Hawkins.

The girl suffered a swollen jaw and lip and had several scratches on her legs.

Hawkins said he did what he could to help a bad situation.

The Peppers' family was taken into custody after Kevin Pepper, Christopher's father, told police what happened.

Hawkins said he's no hero; he only did the right thing.

The Peppers' are charged with kidnapping, and Christopher is also charged with theft and battery.

He had two previous felony warrants before this arrest.

The girl is recovering at home.
