3 people attacked on Broad Street

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)— Chattanooga Police are investigating an attack on a married couple and their friend Saturday night.

Police Sergeant Jerri Weary told Channel 3 Eyewitness News the assault happened just before 11:30 pm at the Sugar's Ribs on Broad Street.

Renee Bourg, 33, told police she was walking out of the restaurant when a group of men punched her husband, 38-year-old Eric Bourg, in the face, sending him to the ground.

Mrs. Bourg said a woman then grabbed the back of her hair and punched her in the head. At the same time, the couple's friend, 29-year-old Thomas Preston, was punched to the right of his mouth by one of the males.

The woman described the suspects as one female and four males, all between the ages of 20 and 30.

Weary said Mr. Bourg was taken to Erlanger for a swollen area on the back of his head and a bloody nose. Mrs. Bourg and Mr. Preston all decline medical treatment.

The manager of Sugar's Ribs told police she would contact them if she is able to obtain surveillance video.
