GA may extend application time for loan program

GEORGIA (WRCB) - Only about a third of the students predicted applied for a new Georgia low interest loan program.

So the state is considering allowing students to continue to apply.

Friday was the deadline to apply for the Student Access Loan Program, which is funded by the Hope Scholarship.

The average loan award will be 35 hundred dollars, with a maximum of 10 thousand dollars.

And they will only have a one percent interest rate.

To qualify, students must graduate high school with a 2.5 GPA and maintain at least a 2.0 in college.
