EAST RIDGE, TN. (WRCB)-- Fire crews found themselves battling a blaze in East Ridge Saturday afternoon.

East Ridge Police Spokesperson Eric Hopkins says calls of a large house fire on Anderson Avenue came in around 3:00 pm.

Hopkins says the home was fully-engulfed by flames when firefighters arrived to the scene.

A woman and her two children were renting the home. The mother of the renter says her daughter and two grandchildren had just laid down for nap when her daughter spotted the smoke.

The woman tells Channel 3 an awning attached to the home collapsed as her daughter and grandchildren were fleeing.

Hopkins says agencies from Walker and Catoosa counties assisted with the fire, and now have it contained.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators are now working to determine a cause.
