3 more 4-eyed turtles hatched at aquarium

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga has three more residents.

Three more four-eyed turtles have been hatched, bringing the aquarium population to 10 males, 11 females and 10 juveniles.

Females of this species tend to lay only one clutch of 1 to four eggs per year.

The babies will be housed off-exhibit, but this species can be viewed in the nursery tanks.

The aquarium, which opened in 1992, focuses on telling the story of the Tennessee River.
