UT officials confirmed standout safety Janzen Jackson is enrolled for the second session of summer classes and has returned to the team. A university release states Jackson "is expected to be a full participant when training camp begins."
Jackson left the team in February and withdrew from school citing personal reasons, but has remained in Knoxville. The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports Jackson remained in close contact with coaches and teammates, and was listed in UT's online directory as a staff member working in maintenance.
Jackson also missed most of the Vols' practices before the Music City Bowl last December, but returned to the team and recorded four tackles and an interception in the double-overtime loss to North Carolina.
The rising junior from Lake Charles, La., tied Prentiss Waggner for the team lead with five interceptions and made 69 tackles last season en route to Second team All-SEC honors from league coaches.
He's played in 23 games in his first two seasons in Knoxville, including 22 starts.
